SRH Script History at Wankhede, Complete 100 IPL Wins Milestone with Dominant Chase Against MI
Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Mumbai Indians in a high-scoring IPL clash at Wankhede Stadium while also completing 100 IPL wins milestone. SRH chased 244 comfortably, extending their winning streak and strengthening their IPL 2026 campaign.
April 30, 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad extended their impressive run in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season with a commanding win over five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. SRH successfully chased down a massive target of 244 runs, securing their fifth consecutive victory of the season and reinforcing their status as strong title contenders.
The win also marked a significant milestone for the franchise, as SRH completed 100 victories in IPL history—achieved 13 years after their debut in 2013. Although Hyderabad has been part of the IPL setup since its inception in 2008, the original franchise, Deccan Chargers, operated separately before being replaced due to financial issues. The Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise was then formed in 2013 under the ownership of Kalanithi Maran of the Sun Group, with his daughter Kavya Maran serving as CEO.
SRH’s Performance Record Highlights Consistency Across Opponents
SRH reached the 100-win landmark in 205 matches, having lost 104 games, with an overall win percentage of 49.01%. This record places them ahead of franchises like Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, who have also been part of the league since its early years. The team has also played four tied matches, winning one of them.
Against specific opponents, SRH have recorded their most success against Punjab Kings. Conversely, they have struggled against Kolkata Knight Riders, losing 20 of their 31 encounters. Their record against Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings has also been challenging, with only 11 wins in 26 matches against MI and 8 wins in 23 games against CSK.

MI Stay Hopeful Despite Setback in Playoff Race
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians’ struggles continued as they failed to defend a total of 243, suffering their sixth defeat in eight matches. The team currently sits in ninth place on the points table, making their path to the playoffs increasingly difficult.
Despite the setback, MI batting coach Kieron Pollard remained optimistic about the team’s chances. He emphasized that Mumbai Indians are still mathematically in contention and have not given up on the season.
“We are still very much in the tournament from a points perspective. We’ve accepted losses, but we have not accepted defeat. We will go back, reassess, and see how far we can push in this competition,” Pollard stated in the post-match press conference.
