Students of St Anthonys Udaipur were accorded a warm welcome as they brought home the honors after winning the under 17 top slot and runners up in the Under 11 category at the CBSE West Zone Championship at Surat.

CBSE West Zone Chess Championship was organized by Vibrant International Academy Surat, held from 5th-7th October.  97 schools participated in the event.  St Anthony students participated in three categories U-11. U-14. U-17. U-19 Boys and Girls. St. Anthony’s Sr. Sec School students of U-17 Boys & U-17 Girls became champion and the U-11 Boys team grabbed the Runners up thereby qualifying for National Level Championships to be held at Ranchi later in the year.

A warm welcome was accorded to the little champions by Principal William D’Souza  and staff as well all parents to the team coach Vikas Sahu and students.

St. Anthony’s Sr. Sec School students U-17 Boys team beat Gwalior Glory High School – Madhya Pradesh; Adity Birla Public School – Neemuch;  The New Digamber Public School, Indore; Hills High School – Surat; Shreeya Devi Maheshwari School – Surat, whereas the U-17 Girls team beat Jhambani Saraswati Vidhya Mandir – Surat; Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Niketan.

St Anthony U-11 Boys beat Shreeya Devi Mahrshwari Surat; St Pauls Udaipur; Shishu Kunj International Indore and drew against Jhambani Saraswati Vidhya Mandir.
