St Anthony Academy carry home the maiden Unity Cup 2019 trophy after beating Udaipur Cricket Academy in a high scoring final.
The final of the first edition of Unity Cup was played at Field Club from 1230hrs onwards today. St Anthony's Academy beat favorites Udaipur Cricket Academy by 29 runs.
Batting first, St Anthony's Academy scored 173 runs with Sonu Singh playing a scintillating knock of 59 runs. Bhati from Udaipru Cricket Academy scalped 3 wickets for his team.
It was a poor beginning for Udaipur Cricket Academy, who lost their first three wickets in quick succession. Sachin Chauhan high scored with 67 runs but ran out of partners. Sachin was the lone man standing when UCA succumbed for 144 runs thanks to some aggressive bowling by Rajdeep Patel who took 3 wickets and Shera, who took 2 wickets.
Man of the Match Award was given to Sonu Singh, whereas the Man of the Series award went to Darpan Kumawat. Best Batsman award was given to Sachin Chauhan whereas DAksh Sharma was awarded Best Bowler of the Tournament.
Director of Udaipur Cricket Academy, Vivek Sharma, in his address to media said that the closing ceremony included Sandeep Purohit (Chief Editor Rajasthan Patrika) as Chief Guest, Anup Dave (Under 19 India team player and Junior Selector), Harshvardhan Singh (Manager, Tata Projects) and Pankaj Kaneria (Jt Secy, Field Club). The prize distribution and closing ceremony was also attended by Yashwant Paliwal, Nitin Menaria, Tariq Khan, Tahir Khan and Anil Sondhi.
