State Classic Powerlifting Championship in Udaipur Feb 14-15
More than 200 athletes from 22 districts will compete in the 14th Rajasthan State Senior & Masters Classic Powerlifting Championship in Udaipur on February 14 and 15, 2026
Udaipur, Feb 12, 2026 - Under the aegis of the Rajasthan State Powerlifting Association and District Powerlifting Association Udaipur, the 14th Rajasthan State Senior and Masters Men & Women Classic Powerlifting Championship will be held from February 14 to 15, 2026, at the Central Auditorium of Rajasthan Mahila Vidyalaya.
Giving this information, organising secretary of the Rajasthan State Powerlifting Association, Vinod Sahu said that more than 200 male and female athletes from 22 districts will participate in the State Senior Powerlifting Championship. Teams from Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Ganganagar, Bikaner, Nagaur, Chittorgarh, Barmer, Kota, Tonk, Alwar, Bharatpur, Deeg, Sirohi, Jalore, Phalodi, Pali, Bhilwara and several other districts will take part.
Several international and national-level athletes from the State will also participate. Prominent among them are Rukhsana Bano and Rahul Joshi (Bikaner), Gaurav Sahu (Udaipur), Parabjeet Singh (Ganganagar), Manisha Prajapat (Jodhpur), Jitendra Sharma (Alwar) and Poonam (Jaipur).
Rajasthan State Powerlifting Association president Dinesh Shrimali said that competitions will be held in eight weight categories for men: 59 kg, 66 kg, 74 kg, 83 kg, 93 kg, 105 kg, 120 kg and above 120 kg.
Similarly, eight weight categories for women will be contested: 47 kg, 52 kg, 57 kg, 63 kg, 69 kg, 76 kg, 84 kg and above 84 kg.
Winners will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals along with momentos. The winning Men’s and Women’s teams will receive the Team Championship titles. The best male and female lifters will be awarded the titles of “Strongman of Rajasthan” and “Strongwoman of Rajasthan.”
Based on performances in this championship, the Rajasthan team will be selected for the National Senior Classic Powerlifting Championship to be held in Mangaluru, Karnataka.
Association secretary Devendra Sahu said the opening ceremony will be held on February 14 at 10:45 am and the competition will begin at 11:00 am. During the inauguration, international athletes who have won medals at the World and Asian Powerlifting Championships will be honoured.
The technical committee includes Chandresh Soni, Bhupendra Vyas and Gaurav Sahu. Referees from outside the State have also been invited.
The event is being sponsored by Hindustan Zinc Limited, powerlifting equipment manufacturer Lacrosse and other social contributors.
