State Level Open Chess Tournament begins; two major upsets on the first day

State level open chess tournament, for Under-7 and Under-17 age category, organized by Chess-in-Lakecity club and The Sten Word School, commenced today.

 

State Level Open Chess Tournament begins; two major upsets on the first day

State level open chess tournament, for Under-7 and Under-17 age category, organized by Chess-in-Lakecity club and The Sten Word School, commenced today.

The tournament was inaugurated by Mohammed Arif and Vikram Makhija. Organizing Secretary Vikas Sahu informed that 72 players from Udaipur, Jaipur, Kota and Jodhpur are participating in this tournament.

The first day of the tournament witnessed two major upsets with Nitin Rathi and Pallav Chaudhari defeating the international players Manthan Chittora and Yugansh Shukla respectively.

The next session of the tournament will start at 8:30 am tomorrow. Winners of the tournament will represent Rajasthan at National Level Tournament.
