State level wrestling begins at Gandhi Ground

State Level Wrestling competition organized by Kanvarpada Government School was inaugurated today at Gandhi Ground by State Minister for Sports Mangilal Garasia. More than 400 wresters are participating in the event.
The competition is categorized in the two age groups of 17 and 19 years. According to Mahendra Kumar Sharma, Additional Secretary, there are 30 teams in 17-year age category in which 184 wrestlers are participating. In 19 years age category, there are 34 teams consisting of 245 wrestlers, 88 teams in charges from all over the state are also accompanying their teams.
In the inauguration ceremony, teams did parade and the tournament started following the flag hosting ceremony.
Sports Minister Mangilal Garasia said in his address that schools and teachers should take initiative to find talent among students. Garasia informed about the beneficiary schemes run the by government to encourage sports.
MP Raghuveer Singh Meena was also present on the occasion.
