Suryakumar Yadav’s Poor Run Raises Concern for India Before T20 World Cup 2026, Numbers Tell the Story
The India captain has not been able to score big runs lately
Udaipur, Dec 10, 2025: India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav’s form has been a big talking point in recent times. As the Indian team prepares to defend their title in the T20 World Cup 2026, his poor run in T20Is has become a major concern.
The India captain has not been able to score big runs lately. The same happened in the first T20I between India and South Africa at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday, December 9.
Suryakumar hit a four and a fine six on two balls in the third over after India were asked to bat first. However, he got out on the fourth ball of the over to Lungi Ngidi. He played a shot over square leg for four and then hit another for a big six before getting out on a similar shot.
He tried to hit a good-length ball from Ngidi but got a top edge, and the ball went to mid-on, where South Africa captain Aiden Markram took the catch. Suryakumar was out for 12 runs from 11 balls as his poor form continued.
