The platform changes - neither the emotion nor the purpose changes | MS Dhoni keeps serving the nation

One of the most mesmerizing players in Indian cricket, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, chose to exit from the international cricket scene at the age of 39. He will, though still be seen in the Chennai Super Kings yellow for years to come.

Saying that he has hung up his boots is probably not the correct statement. “It’s all about serving the nation”… said Dhoni on joining the Territorial Army. Soldiers, thus, keep their boot on always. The platform changes, but neither the emotion nor the purpose changes when a soldier is inbuilt in one's psyche. Dhoni’s performance on the cricket field has been nothing less than that of a soldier.

Speaking on MS Dhoni’s retirement plan, his business partner Arun Pandey said that Lt Col (Hony) Mahendra Singh Dhoni plans to spend more time serving the Territorial Army. Arun rubbished talks of his brand value diminishing. Dhoni has trained with the Parachute regiment for nearly a month following the semi final loss in the 2019 World Cup.

“Dhoni is not just about cricket… he is a youth icon”, said Pandey, adding that he will be giving more time to his commercial ventures and other commitments. Brand Dhoni has signed up with 10 news brands since the July 2019 World Cup exit. Pandey suggested that Dhoni might be playing at the IPL for another 3 seasons.
