June 17, 2025 - The five-match Test series between India (IND) and England (ENG) is set to begin in Leeds from June 20. This series will run from June to August 2025, with matches scheduled at venues like Headingley (Leeds), Edgbaston (Birmingham), Lord's and The Oval (London), and Old Trafford (Manchester).

Many Indian players are close to achieving big milestones in this series. Several major records could be broken in the very first Test match, with special focus on experienced players like KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja.

These Indian players could make history in the Test series against England:

1. Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill is India’s new Test captain. He needs 107 more runs to reach 2,000 Test runs. So far, he has 1,893 runs in 32 matches, with 5 hundreds and 7 fifties. He has only scored 88 runs in 6 innings in England. This tour will test his batting and captaincy.

2. Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal needs 202 more runs to reach 2,000 Test runs. In 19 Tests, he has scored 1,798 runs at an average of 52.88, with 4 hundreds and 10 fifties. He did okay in practice games but scored 712 runs against England at home and 391 in Australia. He will be key in India’s batting.

3. KL Rahul

KL Rahul is close to 9,000 runs in all formats. He has 8,565 runs in 215 matches, with 17 hundreds and 57 fifties. He looks in good form after scoring 116 and 51 in a warm-up game against England Lions.

4. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant needs 52 more Test runs to reach 3,000. His IPL season was average, and he did okay in the Border-Gavaskar series. But his aggressive batting and record overseas can change games.

5. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja needs 309 more runs to reach 7,000 in all formats. He knows English conditions well. His all-round skills will help India, especially without some senior players.

6. Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj needs 15 more wickets to reach 200 international wickets. His fast bowling and accuracy will be very important for India.
