Udaipur Successfully Hosts Three Major Sports of KIUG 2025

Udaipur, Dec 5, 2025 - The Khelo India University Games 2025 concluded on Thursday (December 4) on a high note after a display of exceptional sporting skills over three days. The Games had been organised in three phases from November 25 with participation from more than 400 athletes from around 60 universities across India. The events were judo, beach volleyball as well as kayaking and canoeing.

Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) Commissioner and event in-charge Rahul Jain said that the commendable contribution of all supporting departments and institutions ensured that this major sports event was successfully completed, matching the reputation of the city.

On Thursday, the last rounds of the kayaking and canoeing competitions were held on Fateh Sagar. The event was attended by Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, social worker Gajpal Singh, Pankaj Borana, Devilal Salvi, Seema Champawat, Khushbu Malviya, Bhagwan Vaishnav, Devasthan Department Deputy Commissioner Gitesh Shri Malviya, Mahesh Pimpalkar from the Indian Kayaking-Canoeing Association, as well as council coaches.

According to District Sports Officer Dr Mahesh Paliwal, the winners of the last round were:

200m Kayaking – Singles (Men)

1. Gold: Ningobam Manjeet Meetei, Chandigarh University
2. Silver: Vishal Goswami, Lovely Professional University
3. Bronze: Kiran Sukhdas Sinde, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj, Nagpur University

200m Canoeing – Singles (Men)

1. Gold: Mithun Madhu, University of Kerala
2. Silver: Ankit, Lovely Professional University
3. Bronze: Hemm Rojit Singh, Punjab University, Chandigarh

Kayaking – Doubles (Women)

1. Gold: K Yaifatobi Devi & Anchal Kachru Sahare, Chandigarh University
2. Silver: Kulsum & Pushpa Yadav, Punjab University, Chandigarh
3. Bronze: Anchal Sonkar & Bhumi Sonkar, Guru Kashi University

Canoeing – Doubles (Women)

1. Gold: Salam Chaoba & Devi Saubham Santombi Devi, Chandigarh University
2. Silver: Nikki & Anu, Punjab University, Chandigarh
3. Bronze: Anushka Santosh & Ambedkar Sanskruti Somanath Sinde, Savitribai Phule Pune University

Kayaking – Four (Men)

1. Gold: Deepak, Mairembam Lachenba Singh, Ningthoujam Ngaba Singh, Chandigarh University
2. Silver: Ravindra Kumar, Sumeet Debas, Vikas, Lanthoiya Potsangbam, Guru Kashi University
3. Bronze: Gunke Karan Raju, Akiwate Swannad Sanjay, Buyekar Ame Umesh, Sasane Shrisarath, Shashikant, Shivaji University, Kolhapur

During the closing ceremony held on the Fateh Sagar boulevard, the General Championship Trophies for both Men and Women were awarded by Dr Paliwal and Rajasthan Kayaking–Canoeing Association Secretary Dileep Singh Chauhan.

3. Second Runner-up: Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar
