Training commences for kayaking and canoeing

A 10-day training camp has begun for kayaking and canoeing. The summer camp began at Fatehsagar pal on Monday with joint collaboration of MLSU, Rajasthan State Sports Council and Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association.

40 boats worth 60 lakh rupees bought by MLSU were inaugurated by Home Minister Kataria who was Chief Guest for the day. Kataria promised to sanction 3 lakh rupees from legislator fund for dragon boat. He also assured of honorarium for the trainers. It was also assured that government aid will be provided for the development of water sports in Badi Lake.

Senior Vice President of Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association, Chandragupt Singh Chauhan, said that the availability of boats for kayaking and canoeing in Udaipur has increased the possibilities of national and international competitions. He also asked for space to be provided for keeping the boats secure and for changing room and locker room for the sports lovers. Team that won medal in Taiwan in kayaking and canoeing was also felicitated along with Coach Dilip Singh Chauhan.

Around 50 enthusiasts have enrolled for training in the camp. Camp timings are 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
