Less than 24 hours are left for Udaipur to host first ever National Kayaking and Canoeing Championship 2012, organized by Rajasthan Kayaking & Canoeing Association in collaboration with Pacific University. Preparations of the event are in its final stages at Fatehsagar.

The tournament is scheduled over 4 days commencing from 8^th to 11^th November, as it is the first event ever hosted in the city, infrastructure support was provided by Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association (IKCA), whereby they have sent 70 boats and extended their vital support in making lanes for the competition.

Under the expert technical support of Sanjiv Gupta, Nayan Thakur and Vinod Mishra of IKCA, seven 1 km. long lanes were marked on the surface of water using 5 kms. long tug; width of each lane as per standard norms of game is kept to be nine meters.

Over the period of 4 days, the whole of Fatehsagar paal would be occupied by around 25 participating teams, match officials and referees. Day long events will be played, from 9 in the morning till 6 in the evening, sufficient lighting arrangements have already been made by the association.
