Riding High: Udaipur Wins Big at Ajmer Equestrian Event
Udaipur’s young equestrians win multiple medals at Ajmer District Equestrian Championship 2026, marking a historic debut and showcasing rising talent
Udaipur, April 29, 2026 - Young equestrians from Udaipur delivered an outstanding performance at the District Level Equestrian Championship 2026 held in Ajmer and showcased the rising standards and potential of equestrian sports in Udaipur. This three-day competition, organised by the Ajmer Equestrian Sports Academy in which talented participants from various cities took part, was held from April 24 to 26, 2026.
Udaipur was represented in the tournament by Apurv Dave (Young Category), Vihaan Khawas, Mahabali Deshwal and Mannat Jain (Junior Category). The four participants showcased their horse-riding skills amid tough competition and won multiple accolades. Dave bagged two gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Khawas won one gold and two silver medals. Deshwal won one gold, two silver and two bronze while Jain secured two bronze medals.
For Udaipur, this was the first time when local equestrian athletes were taking part in a competition of this level. They were guided and trained in the sport by local riding school trainer Bhupendra Devda.
