Udaipur Runners, Para Athlete Govind and Virendra Shine at Satara Hill Half Marathon
Udaipur Sept 19, 2025: Udaipur runners Para Athlete Govind Kharol and Virendra Narsingh Rana made the city proud by successfully participating in the prestigious Satara Hill Half Marathon, one of India’s top four marathons and Asia’s largest hill half marathon.

Displaying remarkable determination, Para Athlete Govind Kharol completed the challenging 21.1 km course in just 2 hours and 2 minutes, while his running partner Virendra Singh Rana finished the race in 2 hours and 37 minutes.
This year’s edition of the Satara Hill Half Marathon witnessed the participation of nearly 8,000 runners from across the country and abroad. Known for its steep climbs, tough inclines, and breathtaking natural beauty, the Satara route is considered one of the most demanding half marathons in India.

Speaking about the experience, Govind described it as “a truly memorable journey, testing both endurance and spirit.”

Virendra added, “We are proud to be the first runners from Udaipur to take part in this prestigious event. Completing the race successfully is not just a personal achievement but also a matter of pride for our city.”

Their remarkable feat has sparked immense joy among the local sporting community in Udaipur and stands as an inspiration for young athletes, proving that with dedication and grit, even the toughest challenges can be conquered.
