Udaipur Boxer Harsh Purohit wins International Boxing title in welter weight category

Harsh becomes the first Boxer from Udaipur to lift the National Tricolor at a professional boxing tournament

Udaipur boxing prodigy Harsh Purohit has won the International Professional Boxing Championship in the welter weight category.

Harsh was pitted against Joseph Emmanuel of South Africa in the final of the tournament, which was held on 21 November. His coach and mentor Narpat Singh Chundawat said that this is the first time that a boxer from Udaipur has won an international professional boxing tournament.

Harsh has won many titles at the State and National level. He has been a part of the Udaipur Amateur Boxing Association since his childhood days and was a part of the Udaipur team for three continuous years as they won the Rajasthan Sub-Junior State Boxing Championship thrice in a row in 2012. Harsh, has studied LLB at the Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur and has done his schooling from Guru Nanak Public School, Udaipur.

Harsh's coach, Narpat Singh is a Star 1 Coach of the International Boxing Association, Switzerland. Harsh has been his prodigy from the beginning of his association with the sport of Boxing. Fateh Singh Rathore, President of Rajasthan State Sports Committee and Shakeel Hussain, District Sports Officer have congratulated Harsh on this achievement.
