It was another feather in the cap for the football fraternity of Udaipur, when St Paul student Kaif Miyaji was selected as Vice Captain of the Under 17 Rajasthan Football team today

It was another feather in the cap for the football fraternity of Udaipur, when St Paul student Kaif Miyaji was selected as Vice Captain of the Under 17 Rajasthan Football team today.

As informed by Shakeel Ahmed, Treasurer of the District Football Association, Udaipur, the team left for Una (Himachal Pradesh) today to participate in the Junior National Football Championship today. Suryansh Jhala was the other player selected from Udaipur to be a part of the state team.

Kaif, a student of Class 9 at St Pauls has been under the counselling and coaching of Shakeel Ahmed, at the Sports Council Udaipur center at Gandhi ground. Rajasthan Sports Council has expressed their appreciation on the selection of Kaif and this indicates the growing status of sports in the city.

Rajasthan will play its first match against Pondicherry on 28 Jan. Their second match will be against Jharkhand on 30 Jan and the third match will be played against Tripura on 1 Feb.

Shakeel Ahmed, under whose training Kaif has achieved this success, says that Kaif is a very focussed player, who emphasis ball control and passing more than trying to keep the ball with himself all through.

Coach and Treasurer Shakeel Ahmed, RFA Secretary Dilip Singh Shekhawat, selectors RFA Firoz Khan, Janak Singh and other officials were present to see off the team and wish them success in their endeavor.
