Udaipur Chess Culture Shines: 6 Young Talents Earn FIDE Ratings

Udaipur, July 8, 2025 - Udaipur has made a bold move on the global chessboard - six of its young talents have stormed into the latest FIDE (Federation Internationale des Echecs) ratings list, earning international recognition and making the city proud with their brilliant performances.

The latest FIDE rating list was released by the World Chess Federation. Tushar Mehta, mentor of Chess in Lakecity, informed that the following players have secured international FIDE ratings:

  • Priyanshu Nayak – Standard Rating: 1463
  • Divyansh Mathur – Standard Rating: 1566
  • Jenil Parmar – Standard Rating: 1642
  • Sujyot Manoj Kale – Standard Rating: 1470
  • Vineet Kage – Standard Rating: 1475
  • Gatik Vyas – Standard Rating: 1420, Rapid Rating: 1457

These talented players have been trained under CIL International School of Chess and Castle Minds Chess Academy, two institutions that have been promoting and teaching chess in Udaipur for several years now.

A FIDE rating is an official international ranking given by the World Chess Federation based on a player’s tournament performance. It is the first step toward becoming a titled player like a Grandmaster or International Master.  It is used to assess and compare the relative strength of chess players in official, FIDE-rated tournaments.
