Udaipur Girl represents India in World Skating Championship
Ayushi Jain from Udaipur represented India in the 6th World Free-Style Skating Championship, held in China’s Lee Sui City from August 24-26, 2012.
Ayushi Jain from Udaipur represented India in the 6th World Free-Style Skating Championship, held in China’s Lee Sui City from August 24-26, 2012.
She was one of the four participants who represented India, this is the first time when India has participated in the event.
She landed in Udaipur today at 4 PM at Maharana Pratap International Airport.
Ayushi started skating since she was 4 years old. Earlier she won 2 Gold Medals in National level CBSE meet. She is already famous in Udaipur for performing various skating stunts like, passing beneath the trucks and SUV’s.
Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI) has appointed Manjeet Singh Gehlot as coach and coordinator of Roller Skating in Rajasthan.
Manjeet said, “No aid was provided by the government or any businesses. I have trained them by taking personal loans from banks. If proper aids are provided, I can take this sport to a higher level”. “We need more skating rinks of various levels so as to make our sportspersons practice and prepare for such world level tournaments”, he added.
There are only two skating rinks in Rajasthan and both of them are in Udaipur. One of length 150 m is in Step-By-Step school and other one of length 100 m in CPS school.
