For the first time Udaipur District Volleyball Association is organising the 56th Senior State Open Volleyball Championship started from today at Gandhi Ground.

Udaipur Hosts State Open Volleyball Championship

This was inaugurated by MP Raghuveer Meena today at the Volleyball Stadium in Gandhi Ground. Other dignitaries present at the event were Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya, Tribal Area Development Minister, Govt. of Raj. Rajni Dangi Chairperson, Municipal Council, Udaipur; Pushkar Lal Dangi, MLA, Mavli and Anil Chaudhary, Chairman, Rajasthan Volleyball Association.

Total 46 teams for Men and women categories are participating in this open championship. Udaipurites will get a chance to see many International Volleyball players playing in this tournament. Players like Ram Avtar Singh, Ashok Jain, Lavmeet Kataria are the ones who have been given a mark at international level and are playing in this tournament at the Volleyball stadium.

Udaipur district defeated Sirohi district in the inaugural match by 2-0 to enter in the 2nd round. 20 matches were played today and the winning teams from all these matches have qualified for the next round of the championship. The final of the championship will be played on 23rd Oct.at Volleyball stadium, Gandhi Ground.
