Kiyana Parihar, the eight-year old Chess prodigy from Udaipur, has added another feather to her cap, by clinching the Team Gold Medal in the Blitz format at the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2024. The tournament took place on June 20 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Kiyana participated in the Under -10 Girls category and demonstrated exceptional chess skills and strategic prowess throughout the tournament. She secured an impressive score of 6.5 out of 9 points in the Blitz format, leading to a significant rise of 92 ELO points in her ranking, elevating her from 24th to 8th place.
The Asian Youth Chess Championship is renowned for gathering talented young chess players from across Asia. This year's edition showcased top competitors from the region, making Kiana's victory even more noteworthy.
Kiyana's success has been met with jubilation from her family, coach, school and supporters, who are immensely proud of her accomplishment.
