Udaipur, January 6, 2024 - The five-day Indrasingh Barhath Memorial Rajasthan State Junior and Inter-District Open Tennis Tournament was formally inaugurated yesterday, January 5, at the Rajasthan Agricultural College and Sukhadia University tennis courts. Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan Agricultural University Ajit Kumar Karnataka opened the event which was chaired by Narendra Singh Barhath. International players like Jagdish Tanwar, Vikas Chaudhary and Dr Dipankar Chakraborty were honoured during the programme.

In the matches held yesterday, in the 10 Years Age group final, Udaipur’s Lakshya Sharma defeated Sarth Bhatnagar 8-0 in a one-sided contest to win the title. In the second round of the Under-12 category, Mehun Punia defeated Kanishka Ranwa 7-1, Ayush Vishnoi beat Pramukh Pratap Singh 7-5, Shardul Singh overcame Ayan Bagla 7-5, and Sarth Bhatnagar defeated Rakshit Chaudhary 7-3. In the third round of the same category, Mehun Punia defeated Ayush Vishnoi 7-2 to enter the semi-finals.

In the third round of the Under-14 category, Divyan Chaudhary defeated Parth Saxena 7-2, Vishmay Sharma defeated Divyaraj Chauhan 7-3, and Jason Jat defeated Mehan Chaudhary 7-1 to reach the semi-finals.

In the inter-district matches, Udaipur defeated Sirohi 2-0 to enter the semi-finals.

The event was also attended by Dr Vipin Chandra Sharma, Sudhir Bakshi, Dr Manoj Mahala, Dr Jagdish Chaudhary, Dr P K Soni, and KG Mundhra.
