Finally, Udaipur reached the final of the ICAI Adarsh Cup, the National Level 20-20 tournament, but had to be content with the Runners-Up Trophy.

After a consecutive three wins, Udaipur beat Surat in the first Semi Final by 7 wickets and met Bhopal in the Final that was played at 1:30 pm today at the Field Club ground. Bhopal clinched the Semi Final win against Pune in the last ball of the match.

In the Final Match, however, Udaipur’s consecutive four win journey was brought to a halt by Bhopal, who reached the target of 128 runs given by Udaipur, losing only three wickets and clinched the Adarsh Cup Winners Trophy 2011.

CA Vijit of Bhopal was given the Man of the Match award, for his 4 wicket haul, something that setup the pace for the Bhopal win early in the match.

CA Nirav (Surat) was declared the Best Player of the tournament and CA Vijit (Bhopal) and CA Abhay (Bhopal) were awarded the best Bowler and Batsman respectively in the Award Ceremony Presided by CA Umesh Garg, the Chairman of CIRC Kanpur.

H.S Nainavati, member of the organising committee declared that next year’s tournament will be held in Jodhpur and CA Akash Jain of the organising committee said, “this year’s tournament was overall a successful tournament and one of the best among all the earlier national level tournaments of the CA fraternity.”
