Udaipur under-17 (girls) team became the 1^st runner up of the 56^th State Level Softball Tournament held in Jodhpur while the under- 19 team of girls has to satisfy with the 4th position in the state.

Both the teams had received a warm welcome by their parents and friends for their outstanding performance throughout the tournament held from 13-19 September at a Senior Secondary Girl’s School in Jodhpur.

Nitin Menaria, coach and physical instructor of St Mary’s Convent School informed us that Under-17 team has defeated teams of Bharatpur, Sri Ganganagar and Nagor to settle in the final but Hanumangarh won the final by 2 home runs.

Menaria also told that on the basis of the performances throughout the tournament 4-5 girls of Udaipur might get selected for the national team.

In under-19 category Udaipur team has beaten Dholpur, Sikar and Jaipur to get into semi finals; however team Udaipur got defeated by Bundi and Nagore and remain on the4^th place.

As per the sources it is after a long time that Udaipur team has made a place in the final. The team was welcomed with traditional ‘tilak and garlands’ by parents. Team coaches Nitin Menaria and Gaurav Raj Gurjar were garlanded and presented Mewari Pagri by overwhelmed parents.
