Udaipur team are Rajasthan Champions in Powerlifting Competition

Udaipur emerged as the Rajasthan State Champion on the final day of the 31st Rajasthan Junior Powerlifting Men and Women Competition and 17th Rajasthan State Benchpress Competition, while the team from Bikaner took second place. The Junior Strong Man of Rajasthan was given to Prakash Chandra Soni of Jaipur, while Alka Swami from Bikaner bagged the Junior Strong Woman of Rajasthan in the Powerlifting competition.

In the Benchpress competition, Sameer Khan from Udaipur and Alka Swami of Bikaner bagged the Strong Man of Rajasthan and Strong Woman of Rajasthan caps respectively. The Chairman of the District Powerlifting Association, Khubilal Menariya; President Vinod Sahu, Joint Secretary Kamlesh Sharma and trainer Amritlal Kalyani welcomed the dignitaries, Rajni Dangi who chaired the event, Chief Guest Madhu Mehta, special guests Anil Gupta and Balvir Singh Digpal, Social Activists; entrepreneur Lalit Bhandari and District Sports Officer Lalit Singh Jhala. The other guests at the event were various eminent personalities of the city, prominent among them being Arjun Rajora, Kamini Gurjar, Ashok Chowdhary and Hanuman Purohit. Udaipur team are Rajasthan Champions in Powerlifting Competition The occasion was marked by honoring our local athletes, Bhupendra Vyas, the medal winner at the London Commonwealth Powerlifting Games, Sameer Khan and Deepak Gaur, who were presented cheques of Rs. 65,227/-, Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively. Udaipur team are Rajasthan Champions in Powerlifting Competition Prior to the closing ceremony, the day’s events were marked by some remarkable performances, the results of which were as follows: 120 kilogram (Junior Powerlifting) Gold: Shivnarayan Vyas, Bikaner (715 kg) Silver: Prem Dangi, Bikaner (475 kg) Bronze: Navratan Ranga, Bikaner (340 kg) Above 120 kilogram (Junior Powerlifting) Gold: Ajay Dhameja, Kota (600 kg) Silver: Prince Nagpal, Ganganagar (447.5 kg) 120 kilogram (Benchpress) Gold: Shivnarayan Vyas, Bikaner (180 kg) Silver: Navratan Ranga, Bikaner (85 kg) Above 120 kilogram (Benchpress) Gold: Rajneesh Sharma ( Sanju Baba), Udaipur (185 kg) Silver: Ajay Dhameja, Kota (117.5 kg) Bronze: Prince Nagpal, Ganganagar (80 kg) Udaipur’s Raksha Vyas (47 kilogram Powerlifting), Deepika Vyas (52 kilogram Powerlifting) captured Gold medals in their respective categories whereas Raksha Vyas bagged a Gold medal in the Benchpress competition as well.
