Udaipur Under-9 Chess: Viaansh-Gatik & Poushita-Mananya Qualify for State

The Udaipur District Under-9 Chess Championship 2026 (Open & Girls Category) was conducted under the joint aegis of Rybka Chess Club and Udaipur District Chess Association (UDCA)

Udaipur, April 21, 2026 - Under the joint aegis of Rybka Chess Club and Udaipur District Chess Association (UDCA), the Udaipur District Under-9 Chess Championship 2026 (Open & Girls Category) was successfully conducted on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Mikado Kids and Mikado International School, Udaipur.

Organising Secretary Richeen Jain shared that young players from various schools across the district participated enthusiastically and displayed excellent gameplay. The tournament was conducted under the supervision of Chief Arbiter Vikas Chandel in the presence of UDCA president Sonal Garg.

In the Open (Boys) category, Viaansh Bhatnagar (Witty International School) secured first place with a perfect score of 5 points, winning all his matches. Gatik Vyas (The Vision Academy, Udaipur) and Ramnik Singh Saluja (St Paul’s Senior Secondary School) scored 4 points each to finish second and third respectively. Viraj Darak (Pine World School) secured fourth place with 3.5 points.

Following them, Shreyan Gupta and Atharva Chhajed (Seedling Modern Public School) along with Aayansh Dalal (Rockwoods International School) scored 3 points each, finishing fifth, sixth and seventh respectively. Dhanvin Sharma secured eighth place, while Rudra Joshi (365 Healthcare Services) and Tejas Mishra finished ninth and tenth respectively.

In the Girls category, Poushita Paliwal (MDS Senior Secondary School) secured first place with 4 points. Mananya Choudhary (St Anthony Senior Secondary School) finished second with 3 points while Lithisha Sharma secured third place also with 3 points.

Prisha Kataria (Curious Kids Campus) and Trisha Sharma (Delhi Public School) also performed well with 3 points each. Devanshi Baheti (Cross Roads International School), Vihana Gokhru (St Anthony School), Jayanti Kothari, Davisha Ranawat, Vriddhi Valecha and Kimaira Chhabra scored 2 points each.

Adhira Chaudhary (Cross Road International School), Anayra Dagalia and Reet Kataria scored 1 point each while Ayra Choksi (Cross Road International School) also took part.

Based on the results, Viaansh Bhatnagar and Gatik Vyas from the Open category, and Poushita Paliwal and Mananya Choudhary from the Girls category have been selected for the Rajasthan State Under-9 Chess Championship, where they will represent Udaipur district.
