Udaipur Wins 6 Medals in Rajasthan Junior Powerlifting

Udaipur powerlifting team secured 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal at the Rajasthan State Junior & Sub-Junior Equipped Powerlifting Championship held in Bikaner

Udaipur, April 29, 2026 - Powerlifters from Udaipur outperformed at the 45th Rajasthan State Junior and 23rd Rajasthan State Sub-Junior Equipped Powerlifting Championship at Chiranjeevi Kunj Auditorium in Bikaner winning three gold, two silver and one bronze medals.

According to Vinod Sahu, Secretary of the District Powerlifting Association Udaipur, Rupesh Baranda created three new State records in the 59 kg Sub-Junior category and won gold by lifting a total of 507.5 kg. In the 74 kg Junior category, Jayesh Kamoya won the gold with an impressive total lift of 625 kg. In the 74 kg Masters II category, Sohanlal Nalwaya also secured a gold medal.

Additionally, Baranda participated in the 59 kg Junior category and won a silver medal, earning his second medal in the competition.

In the Women’s category, Mansi Rawat won a silver medal in the 43 kg Junior category by lifting a total of 265 kg. Hansika Kamoya secured a bronze in the 47 kg Sub-Junior category. Yuvraj Singh (59 kg Junior) and Mitanshu Sen (83 kg Junior) also delivered commendable performances.

The team coach was Gaurav Sahu while the Women’s team was coached by national champion Neelam Dangi.

Several officials and sports personalities, including Rajasthan State Powerlifting Association president Dinesh Shrimali, Secretary Dr Devendra Sahu, Udaipur District Olympic Association president Vinod Sahu and Secretary Mukesh Jain congratulated the medal-winning athletes.
