Emerging women cricketers Sonal Kalal and Sumitra Kumari Jat from Udaipur have been selected for the Rajasthan senior T20 team. Both players will represent the state in the BCCI Senior Women's Cricket Competition.
Training at the state's first women's cricket academy in Udaipur, Sumitra and Sonal earned their spots based on impressive recent performances. Right-handed batsman Sumitra Jat scored 275 runs in 5 innings, while left-arm spinner Sonal Kalal claimed 6 wickets with an economy rate of 1.93 in 4 innings during the Senior Women's Championship.
Rajasthan is set to play its first match against Punjab on October 17 at the KCA Cricket Ground in Mangalpuram, Kerala.
Head coach Manoj Chaudhary noted the increasing popularity of women's cricket in Udaipur, highlighting the significance of Sumitra and Sonal's selection for the Rajasthan team. There are high hopes for their performance in the upcoming tournament.
