Under-19 Girls National Cricket Tournament in Udaipur

This will be the first time that the School Games Federation of India event will be held in the city; review of preparations carried out by Education Department

Udaipur, January 21, 2025 - For the first time in Udaipur, the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) Under-19 Girls National Cricket Tournament will be held at Government Mahatma Gandhi English Medium School, Sundarwas, Udaipur.

A meeting was held yesterday to review the preparations for the successful carrying-out of the tournament, which will take place from January 29 to February 3. The meeting was attended by principals, teachers and Physical Education teachers appointed by the Education Department, along with Lokesh Bharti, District Education Officer (DEO, Secondary), Udaipur. They reviewed the preparations so far and provided necessary directions to those responsible.

The Principal of Sophia Senior Secondary School, Dr Ashutosh Dadhich, was felicitated for providing a meeting hall, a room and computer facilities for setting up a temporary office for the tournament.

DEO Bharti mentioned that cricket teams from various States will participate in the national cricket competition. Under the guidance of Udaipur District Collector Arvind Poswal, advance bookings have already been made for the city's various cricket grounds.

Additional DEO, Murli Dhar Chobisa, who inspected the preparations, said that various committees have been formed by dividing tasks and assigning responsibilities based on the qualifications of personnel.

Deputy District Education Officer of Physical Education, Lakshman Lal Salvi, also visited the office to assess the preparations.
