The opening pair added runs at a rapid pace, helping Rajasthan race to 71 in the first six overs and putting the visitors immediately under pressure.
Jaiswal played a quickfire knock of 43 runs off just 23 deliveries before losing his wicket, but Sooryavanshi continued the attack from the other end. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Brutal Knock Leaves LSG Helpless
The left-hander looked completely unfazed by the pressure of a must-win match and dominated both pace and spin with remarkable maturity for a 15-year-old. Even when the LSG bowlers attempted short-pitched deliveries and attacking lines, Sooryavanshi countered aggressively and kept Rajasthan ahead in the chase. Although he missed out on a well-deserved century and could not stay till the end, his innings had already taken RR to the brink of a famous victory.
Earlier in the evening, Mitchell Marsh starred with the bat for LSG, smashing 96 runs off 57 balls with 11 fours and five sixes. Josh Inglis also made a valuable contribution with a rapid 60 off 29 deliveries, while Rishabh Pant chipped in with 35 runs to help LSG post a massive total of 220/5 in 20 overs. However, their bowling unit failed to defend the target, and the absence of Mohammed Shami was clearly felt during the powerplay overs.

Rajasthan now has its playoff destiny firmly in its own hands. A victory in their final league-stage match against the Mumbai Indians would guarantee qualification for the playoffs. RR were also without captain Riyan Parag, who missed the game due to a hamstring injury. His expected return against Mumbai could further strengthen Rajasthan’s chances in the decisive encounter.
Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was full of praise for Sooryavanshi after the match. Reacting on social media, Ashwin wrote, “Area 51 has a lot of mystery associated with extraterrestrial existence. Let’s put an end to that debate — one supernatural person is living amongst us earthlings, and he opens the batting for the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. It’s also on live TV.”
