Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed a record-breaking 15-ball fifty against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026, continuing his explosive form for Rajasthan Royals in a thrilling chase.
April 11, 2026: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again delivered a stunning batting show in the Indian Premier League 2026, as he equalled his own record for the fastest half-century of the tournament. The young Rajasthan Royals batter smashed a 15-ball fifty against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday while chasing a target of 202 runs. This was his second 15-ball fifty of the season, showing his amazing form and fearless batting style.
The left-handed batter started very aggressively from the first ball he faced. He played a strong drive off a yorker from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and sent it straight down the ground. After that, he attacked Josh Hazlewood with full power, hitting 4, 4, 4, and 6 in the first four balls he faced from him. He continued his attack and reached his fifty in just 15 balls, finishing the milestone with back-to-back sixes against Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the fifth over.

Match impact and partnership
Sooryavanshi played a key role in the Rajasthan Royals’ strong start in the chase. Along with Dhruv Jurel, he helped the team reach 97/1 in the powerplay, which was their highest-ever IPL powerplay score. It was also the highest powerplay total of the season so far.
Together, Sooryavanshi and Jurel added 108 runs in just 37 balls for the second wicket. The partnership was finally broken in the ninth over by Krunal Pandya, who got Jurel out.
Sooryavanshi continued his attacking game even after that. He finally got out for 78 runs from 26 balls. He tried another big shot but was caught by Virat Kohli at long-on. He walked back after a brilliant knock, hitting 8 fours and 7 sixes, and finishing with a strike rate of 300.
