WATCH: Rajasthan Royals Share Dhurandhar-Style Video of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Ahead of IPL 2026

March 16, 2025: Rajasthan Royals (RR) shared a unique video on social media featuring teenage star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026. In the video, the young cricketer is seen sitting at a desk in a red-lit room with a notebook. He crosses out the goals he has already achieved and then focuses on his next targets. One important moment shows him crossing out the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup and writing the IPL trophy as his next big goal. The concept of the video is inspired by the dramatic final scene of the film Dhurandhar.

In the movie, Ranveer Singh’s character Hamza Ali Mazari crosses off the name of his target after defeating him. Rajasthan Royals used a similar storytelling idea to show Sooryavanshi’s ambition and determination before the new IPL season.

Sooryavanshi’s Rise in Cricket

Sooryavanshi has already become one of the most exciting young players in world cricket. Earlier this year, he played a key role in India’s victory in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In the final against England in Harare, the young batter scored an incredible 175 runs from just 80 balls. His powerful innings helped India win their sixth Under-19 World Cup title and extend their record in the tournament. The performance brought him huge attention and confirmed his status as a promising young batter.

Rajasthan Royals had already noticed his talent before the World Cup success. The franchise signed him in 2024 for ₹1.1 crore, making him the youngest player to receive an IPL contract. In the 2025 season, he made more headlines by becoming the youngest player to score a century in the tournament.

Despite these early achievements, Sooryavanshi wants to reach even bigger goals. During the BCCI Naman Awards, he shared that he hopes to break Chris Gayle’s famous IPL record of 175 runs, which is still the highest individual score in the league.
