RCB Lose First Match of IPL 2026 Season
Royal Challengers Bengaluru started IPL 2026 strongly with back-to-back wins in their opening two games. They defeated SunRisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings comfortably. However, in their third match against the Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on April 10, RCB faced their first loss of the season.
After winning the toss, the Rajasthan Royals asked RCB to bat first. RCB posted a total of 201 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Rajasthan Royals chased down the target in 18 overs, losing only four wickets. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played a powerful knock of 78 runs from just 26 balls, while Dhruv Jurel stayed unbeaten on 81 runs to finish the game.
RCB opener Virat Kohli gave a quick start at the top of the order. He scored 32 runs off 16 balls, hitting seven boundaries before getting out in the fifth over.
So far in IPL 2026, Kohli has been in good touch for RCB. He has scored 129 runs in three matches, with an average of 64.50 and a strike rate of 179.16.
