Vyansh and Paushita Win District U-9 Chess Titles

Udaipur, May 19, 2025 – The Udaipur District Under-9 Chess Championship 2025 was held at Roshan Chess Academy, Bhupalpura, under the joint auspices of the Udaipur District Chess Association and Roshan Chess Academy. The Chief Guest at the event was social worker Ashok Lodha, and Special Guest was Ayush Chaudhary.

District Association Treasurer and chief organiser of the tournament, Rohit Lodha informed that around 40 participants competed in the Boys and Girls categories.

In the Boys category, a total of five rounds were played. Vyansh Bhatnagar of Witty International School remained undefeated, winning all five rounds and securing the first place with five points. Kale Sujyot of Maharana Mewar Vidya Mandir performed impressively, scoring four points and claiming second place. Ayansh Dalal earned 3.5 points, finishing in third place.

Other players scoring 3.5 points included Gatik Vyas (The Vision Academy), Siddhant Jain (St. Anthony’s School, Sector 4), and Ayansh Ayush Chaudhary. Shreyan Gupta (Seedling Modern Public School), Vihaan Karival (PPS), and Atharv Chhajed each scored three points. Garvit Kothari (St Paul’s Sr. Sec. School) scored 2.5 points to secure a spot in the top 10.

In the Girls category, a total of four rounds were played. Paushita Paliwal (St Anthony Sr. Sec. School) scored 3.5 points to take first place, while Mananya Chaudhary also scored 3.5 points but was placed second based on tie-break rules. Ridham Nagpal (Delhi Public School) and Sanchi Jain both scored three points, placing third and fourth, respectively. Veera Kage (MDS), Vihana Gokhru (St Anthony School), Preesha Kataria (Curious Kids Campus), and Lithisha Sharma all scored two points each. Gauravi Kothari (St Paul’s Sr. Sec. School) and Adhira Chaudhary secured their positions in the top 10 with one point each.

Tournament organiser Sonal Garg said that the top two players from each category – Vyansh Bhatnagar and Kale Sujyot (Boys), and Paushita Paliwal and Mananya Chaudhary (Girls) – will represent Udaipur district in the upcoming Rajasthan State Chess Championship, to be held on May 22 and 23, 2025, in Udaipur.
