The Mohan Lal Shukhadia University has organised West Zone Inter-University Football Tournament. The Cup started today at M.B College Ground in presence of prestigious personalities of Udaipur and officials of MLSU Sports Board. Championship is being hosted with teams from 36 Universities of western parts of India.

Today, inaugural match was played between Surat and Bikaner at M.B (B) ground, while over 5 days of tournament, matches will be played over four grounds. The champion of the Cup would be entitled with West Zone Champion, whereas first and second runners would be qualifying for Central Inter-University Football Championship to be held earlier this year.

In the opening match played between Surat and Bikaner, Surat defeated MGS University Bikaner with score of 7-4, informed Chunni Lal Chanderiya, Spokesperson, MLSU.

In other group matches played over B.N College, M.B (A) and M.B (C) grounds concluded with following results:

• Dr. B.R University, Aurangabad defeated Jaipur University with 1-0.
• Kota University defeated H.N.G University, Patan with 4-0.
• Pacific University Udaipur defeated Nadiyad University, Gujarat with 5-1.
• Rajkot University defeated Nanded University with 3-1.
• MPUAT University, Udaipur defeated M.K.S, Bhawnagar University with 1-0.
• Vadodara University defeated National University, Jaipur with 2-0.
• Pune defeated Rauri University with 15-1 to enter into next round.
