Udaipur, April 5, 2025: Swastik Chikara is currently without a role in the team. He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 30 lakh in the auction. However, the young batsman from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, has not yet made his IPL debut. He is part of the team, practicing, joking, learning from the senior players, and waiting for his opportunity in the playing XI. In the meantime, he has built strong relationships with many people in Bengaluru and receives a lot of affection from them. The most affection he probably receives is from Virat Kohli, who has become an icon of Bengaluru. So much so that Chikara sometimes asks Kohli for gifts. For instance, on his 20th birthday, he asked Kohli for 2-3 watches.

Chikara's Rise to Fame

Swastik Chikara, who has played in the Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, first caught attention in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League. He scored 494 runs in his debut season for Meerut Mavericks and became the second-highest run-scorer that year. In the following season, he scored 499 runs at a strike rate of 185. These performances brought him into the spotlight and earned him a place at the IPL 2025 mega auction, where Royal Challengers Bangalore picked him up.

Chikara celebrated his birthday yesterday in grand style. He cut a cake with all his teammates, and everyone joined in the celebration. The team had fun, ate cake together, and even playfully slapped him as part of the birthday tradition.

Why Chikara Asked for a Watch

Virat Kohli is known for his love of luxury watches. He often wears expensive timepieces from brands like Rolex and Patek Philippe. Some of these watches cost around 7-8 crore in Bangladeshi currency. That’s probably why Chikara, seeing the opportunity, asked Kohli for a birthday gift!

Not the First Time Chikara Took a Chance

This isn’t the first time Chikara has shown interest in Kohli’s things. A few days ago, he shared a funny story. He was once caught using Kohli’s perfume from his locker. Just as he was trying it on, Kohli arrived and asked what he was doing. Chikara responded, "I’m just checking how your perfumes are. I hope no one gave you a bad one!"
