Airtel Free International Roaming for Postpaid Users: Check Benefits, Data and 90-Day Rule
Airtel has introduced a free international roaming pack for eligible postpaid customers, offering 5GB of data, 60 minutes of calling and five-day validity. However, users must complete 90 days with their connection before accessing the benefit.
October 27, 2026: India’s second-largest telecom operator, Airtel, has announced a free international roaming facility for its postpaid customers. However, there is a special condition to access this benefit. Although the facility is included with Airtel’s postpaid plans, customers cannot use it immediately after getting a new connection. As per the rules, the free roaming benefit will be available only after completing 90 days with the service.
Airtel Announces Free International Roaming Facility
Airtel currently offers around six postpaid plans in India. These plans provide unlimited 5G data along with its Fastlane 5G service. In addition, eligible postpaid customers can enjoy a free international roaming pack once a year.
The international roaming pack includes the following benefits:

SMS: 25 outgoing SMS and free incoming SMS

Validity: 5 days
Customers can activate this five-day pack before travelling abroad, according to their needs. This will help them avoid purchasing a separate roaming pack for their trip. Airtel has stated that the benefit can be used in more than 199 countries worldwide and is available across all telecom circles in India.
Customers who do not have an Airtel postpaid SIM can switch from prepaid to postpaid through the Airtel Thanks app. Another key benefit for postpaid users is Airtel's Fastlane 5G service, which is not available to prepaid customers. It uses optimised 5G network technology to provide an improved connectivity experience.
