Apple Unveils iPhone 17 Series and Hypertension-Detecting Watch

Sept 10, 2025 - Apple launched four models of the iPhone 17 series at its annual Out of the Box event - iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. This new series is equipped with longer lasting batteries and higher quality cameras. The company has introduced its thinnest iPhone ever — the iPhone 17 Air, which is just 5.6 mm thick. This phone supports only eSIM (no physical SIM card).

The event also saw the launch of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. For the first time, both the Pro and Pro Max models come with three 48-megapixel rear cameras.

In addition, Apple unveiled the AirPods 3 Pro, which feature a real-time translation capability. This feature allows spoken sentences in different languages to be translated instantly.

Although the iPhone 17 is manufactured in India, its pricing is higher in India compared to countries like the USA, Canada and UAE.

Priced between Rs 82,900 (base model) and Rs 2,29,900, the iPhone 17 will be available in lavender, mist blue, sage, white and black, with 256GB and 512GB storage options. The company has said that the new iPhone models are available for pre-order and will hit stores on September 19.

In its Apple Watch line-up, the company also unveiled the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Apple Watch SE.

The Apple Watch Series 11 is the first in the line-up to support 5G. It features a hypertension notification system, which can alert the wearer if they may have high blood pressure. It also provides a sleep score to indicate the quality of your sleep.

Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 comes with satellite connectivity, allowing users to communicate even in areas with no network coverage.
