Bajaj Auto’s First Adventure Bike Could Launch in India by 2026 End
Bajaj Auto could launch its first adventure motorcycle in India by the end of 2026, with reports hinting at new engine options, rugged styling and the possible Trekker name.
October 12, 2026: Bajaj Auto may launch its first adventure motorcycle in India by the end of 2026. However, the company's plans may extend beyond a single model. Recent comments by Bajaj Brazil Executive Director Waldir Ferreira have raised the possibility of the company introducing multiple trail motorcycles. Speculation is growing about bikes with different engine capacities, ranging from 150–160cc entry-level adventure motorcycles to 250cc models. However, Bajaj has not officially confirmed any specific model or engine capacity.
Along with India, Bajaj's new adventure motorcycle has also been spotted testing in Brazil. Until now, discussions have mainly focused on a single adventure bike. However, comments from a senior executive in the company's Brazilian division suggest that Bajaj could introduce more motorcycles in this segment in the future.
Is Bajaj Bringing a 250cc Adventure Bike?
Speculation about Bajaj's first adventure motorcycle began after a test bike was spotted on Indian roads. Initial reports suggested that the motorcycle could use the engine from the Pulsar N250. The Pulsar N250 currently produces a maximum power of 24.5 PS and peak torque of 21.5 Nm.
However, it is not yet clear whether the new adventure motorcycle will use this exact engine. The company has also not confirmed whether the bike will be available with multiple engine options.
If launched, a 250cc adventure motorcycle could attract buyers looking for a bike suitable for city commuting, long-distance touring and light off-road riding.
A Smaller 150–160cc Adventure Bike May Also Be Planned
There is also speculation that Bajaj may be developing a smaller adventure motorcycle. If a 150–160cc model enters the market, it could offer buyers a more affordable way to own an adventure-style bike.
There is demand for such motorcycles in markets such as Brazil, where trail bikes like the Honda NXR Bros 160 and Yamaha Crosser 150 are popular. Bajaj's smaller adventure motorcycle could compete with these models.
Meanwhile, a larger-capacity model could compete with motorcycles such as the Yamaha Lander 250 and Honda Sahara 300 in the Brazilian market.
However, the possibility of Bajaj launching separate 150–160cc and 250cc models remains speculative. The company has not announced the engine capacities, number of models or launch schedule.
First Bajaj Adventure Bike Expected Before the End of 2026
Bajaj's first adventure motorcycle is expected to arrive before the end of 2026. Earlier, Waldir Ferreira said that the bike's prototype had reached Brazil and that he had personally ridden it. He also described the motorcycle as a possible 'Christmas gift' for customers.
Reports also suggest that work on the motorcycle's components and homologation, which involves obtaining the necessary approvals before a vehicle can be sold, was underway.
The development of the new motorcycle appears to be progressing, as test bikes have been spotted in both India and Brazil. However, Bajaj has not announced a specific launch date.
The Design Features Familiar Adventure Bike Elements
Spy images of the test motorcycle have revealed several adventure-style design elements. These include a high front beak, gaiters on the front forks, spoke wheels and a long, single-piece seat.
The test bike has also been spotted with a high-mounted exhaust, an upright riding position, telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock suspension system and a digital instrument cluster.
These features suggest that the motorcycle is being developed for everyday commuting as well as riding on uneven roads and tackling light off-road conditions. However, the final production model may have different features.
Bajaj Trekker Could Be the Name of the New Motorcycle
Bajaj Auto has trademarked the name 'Trekker', leading to speculation that it could be used for the upcoming adventure motorcycle.
However, the company has not confirmed the bike's final name, engine specifications or price. It remains unclear whether the Trekker name will be used for the production model.
What Are the Benefits of Launching Multiple Models?
If Bajaj introduces adventure motorcycles with different engine capacities, it could appeal to a wider range of buyers. Smaller models may be more affordable and easier to handle, making them suitable for new riders and daily commuting. Larger models could attract riders looking for better performance and long-distance touring capabilities.
However, Bajaj's adventure motorcycle project is still awaiting further official details. The first model is expected to arrive before the end of 2026, but the possibility of separate 150–160cc and 250cc motorcycles remains unconfirmed. Buyers will have to wait for an official announcement to learn more about the models, specifications, prices in INR and launch plans.
