Ducati has launched the Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP in India, with an 890cc V2 engine, advanced riding features and ex-showroom prices of Rs 16.53 lakh and Rs 20.78 lakh, respectively.
October 23, 2026: The Ducati Hypermotard V2 and Hypermotard V2 SP have been launched in India. The Italian premium motorcycle maker’s new supermoto bikes feature an 890cc V2 engine, a new monocoque frame and improved riding technology. The ex-showroom price of the standard model starts at Rs 16.53 lakh, while the Hypermotard V2 SP is priced at Rs 20.78 lakh.
The Ducati Hypermotard 950 was one of the key models in this series. After its production was discontinued, the new V2 version was introduced as its successor. Both models feature a new engine and chassis, while the SP version gets additional upgrades, including improved suspension and sportier tyres.
120.4 hp Power from the 890cc V2 Engine
One of the main highlights of the new Ducati Hypermotard V2 is its 890cc, liquid-cooled, V2 twin-cylinder engine. It produces a maximum power of 120.4 hp and peak torque of 94 Nm. Although the same engine is used in other Ducati models, the company states that it delivers its highest power and torque output in the Hypermotard V2.
Compared with the older Hypermotard 950, the new model produces 6 hp more power. However, its maximum torque has decreased by 2 Nm. This means the new engine offers more power, along with a slight reduction in torque.
New Monocoque Frame and Improved Braking System
Along with the new engine, the Hypermotard V2 features a monocoque frame. It gets a fully adjustable 46mm KYB front fork with 170mm of travel. At the rear, the bike has a monoshock suspension with preload and rebound adjustment, offering 160mm of travel.
For braking, the motorcycle features a Brembo M4.32 front brake caliper. The rear tyre is also 10mm wider than that of the previous model. The standard version comes with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, replacing the older Rosso III tyres.
5-inch TFT Display and Multiple Riding Features
The new Hypermotard V2 comes with a 5-inch TFT display, multiple riding and power modes, and a two-way quickshifter. The quickshifter allows riders to change gears up and down without using the clutch.
The motorcycle has a seat height of 880mm. With an optional low seat, the height can be reduced to 865mm. It can be lowered further to 850mm by combining the low seat with a low suspension kit. These accessories may need to be purchased separately.
What’s Extra in the Hypermotard V2 SP?
Compared with the standard model, the Hypermotard V2 SP gets more advanced hardware. It features Öhlins suspension at both the front and rear, along with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres.
The SP version has a kerb weight of 177kg without fuel, making it 3kg lighter than the standard model. Its upgraded suspension, sportier tyres and lower weight make it the more performance-focused option in the range.
What Is the Price and How Can You Book It?
The Ducati Hypermotard V2 is priced at Rs 16.53 lakh, while the Hypermotard V2 SP costs Rs 20.78 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. Bookings for both motorcycles have begun at Ducati showrooms.
The standard version is available in Ducati Red. The SP model features a special sports livery and a decal bearing the number ‘20’. This design celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Hypermotard’s debut at the 2005 EICMA exhibition.
Which Model Is Right for You?
The standard Ducati Hypermotard V2 could be a good choice for riders looking for a powerful V2 engine, modern riding features and supermoto styling. The Hypermotard V2 SP may appeal more to riders who want Öhlins suspension, sportier tyres and a lighter motorcycle.
However, there is a significant price difference between the two models. Before booking, buyers should consider their riding style, seat height requirements, maintenance costs and the final on-road price quoted by the dealer.
