April 15, 2025 - Minister of Information and Broadcasting Minister and Electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw has officially launched a new Aadhaar app. This new app will give users the option to store their personal information on their phone securely with QR-based verifications and real-time face ID authentication. Users will not need to carry a physical copy of the Aadhaar card and can share details digitally. It is aimed at making Aadhaar verification easier and more safe.
“Now with just a tap, users can share only the necessary data, giving them complete control over their personal information,” the Minister said on social media.
The app is, however, yet to come out in the market and is currently in Beta testing and will be available after trials. Users can download it from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store once the public version is out.
