ISRO’s 100th Launched Satellite Faces Technical Issues

Even though the satellite is not in its correct orbit ISRO is trying to make it useful for navigation

ISRO 100 Rocket Launched

Udaipur, February 3, 2025 - ISRO launched the NVS-02 navigation satellite on January 29 using the GSLV-F15 rocket. This was ISRO’s 100th successful launch. However, after reaching space, the satellite faced a technical problem.

What went right?

The solar panels opened properly, and the satellite is getting power. ISRO is communicating with the satellite from Earth. The satellite needs to move to its final position, but it couldn’t fire its thrusters (small engines). This happened because the valves that let fuel (oxidizer) reach the thrusters didn’t open.

ISRO Current Update

The satellite is still working and is in an elliptical orbit (not its planned final position). ISRO scientists are finding a way to use the satellite as it is. The Master Control Facility is handling the situation.

Even though the satellite is not in its correct orbit, ISRO is trying to make it useful for navigation.
