Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Jio), the market leader with the largest subscriber base, further consolidates its leadership position with the addition of 2.73 lakh new wireless subscribers in Rajasthan in the month of December 2023, as per the latest telecom subscription data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
In the same period, Bharti Airtel and BSNL added 1.11 lakh subscribers and 21,000 subscribers, respectively. Whereas Vodafone Idea lost 1.24 lakh existing subscribers in Rajasthan.
Jio achieved a subscriber base of 2.62 crores in Rajasthan as of December 31, 2023, in a short span of less than eight years of its operation, cementing Jio’s position as the most preferred telecom brand in the service area. Besides this, Jio Air Fiber services is operational in 43 cities of Rajasthan with more than 20,000 customers now live.
Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and BSNL recorded subscriber bases of 2.30 crores, 1.10 crores, and 56.60 lacs, respectively, in the same period.
The total telecom subscriber number in Rajasthan is 6.60 crores as of December 31, 2023.
A key factor contributing to Jio’s rapid growth in Rajasthan is its robust and largest network, covering 99.5% of the population. Most of its sites are on fibre, which leads to nearly unlimited data carrying capacity, which is multi-fold higher than its competitors.
