Kawasaki has launched the Z300 in India at ₹3.24 lakh. The sports-naked motorcycle gets a 296cc parallel-twin engine, Sugomi styling, dual-channel ABS and features designed for sporty everyday riding.
October 27, 2026: Kawasaki has launched the new Z300 sports-naked motorcycle in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price of ₹3.24 lakh. Built on the same platform as the Ninja 300, the motorcycle features a 296cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. Its Sugomi styling is inspired by the larger Kawasaki Z900. The Z300 will serve as an entry-level model in the company’s Z series.
The motorcycle will compete with performance-focused street bikes from KTM and TVS. Its twin-cylinder engine, streetfighter design and Kawasaki brand appeal are among its key highlights.
40hp Power from a 296cc Engine
The Kawasaki Z300 uses the Ninja 300’s 296cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine, although its power and torque figures are slightly different. The engine produces a maximum power of 40hp at 11,000rpm and peak torque of 26.3Nm at 10,000rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The Z300 produces 1hp more power and 0.2Nm more torque than the Ninja 300. Its twin-cylinder engine is expected to deliver smooth performance, although real-world testing will be important to assess how it compares with its rivals from KTM and TVS.
Sugomi Design Inspired by the Z900
The new Kawasaki Z300 follows the Sugomi design language of the larger Z900. It features wide, upright, single-piece handlebars and streetfighter-style bodywork. The design aims to offer a sporty riding position while remaining suitable for everyday city rides.
The motorcycle weighs 175kg, which is 4kg less than the Ninja 300, which weighs 179kg. According to the report, its relatively simple bodywork helps reduce weight. The bike also gets a 17-litre fuel tank, offering a substantial capacity for this segment.
The Kawasaki Z300 will be available in two colour options: Candy Lime Green and Metallic Carbon Grey.
LCD Display and Dual-Channel ABS
In terms of features, the Z300 gets a reverse LCD instrument cluster similar to the display on the Ninja 500. However, it does not offer smartphone connectivity. For safety, the motorcycle comes with dual-channel ABS.
The suspension setup includes a 37mm right-side-up telescopic fork at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. The motorcycle also uses the tubular frame from the Ninja 300.
Brakes and Tyre Specifications
The Kawasaki Z300 comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, with a 110-section front tyre and a 140-section rear tyre. Its braking setup includes a 290mm petal disc at the front and a 220mm petal disc at the rear.
The motorcycle has a seat height of 785mm, which may make it easier for some riders to get on and off the bike and place their feet on the ground when stopping. However, comfort and accessibility will depend on the rider’s height and build.
Competition with the KTM 390 Duke and TVS Apache RTR 310
The KTM 390 Duke and TVS Apache RTR 310 are among the main rivals of the Kawasaki Z300. Based on the prices provided, the KTM 390 Duke is priced at ₹2.85 lakh, while the TVS Apache RTR 310 costs ₹2.30 lakh. All three prices are ex-showroom.
Both rival motorcycles use single-cylinder engines, while the Z300 features a parallel-twin engine that may offer a different riding experience in terms of smoothness and engine character. However, direct performance comparisons will depend on real-world testing.
The Kawasaki Z300 is more expensive than both rivals. Its success in the Indian market will depend on whether buyers consider its twin-cylinder engine, styling and Kawasaki brand appeal worth the additional cost. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
