Shaking hands with technology in 2002, Rajasthan Government launched e-Mitra facility, providing easy means of paying bills of various departments. In e-Mitra, two projects were integrated namely Lok Mitra, an urban centric e-governance project and Jan Mitra, a rural centric e-governance project to give single window service. In Udaipur, at present 15 centers are running to lighten aggravate of standing in long queues.

The key objectives of e-mitra are:

• To provide fast and easy way
• To combine best available features of LokMitra & Janmitra models.
• To include many departments including private sector services too.
• Easy mean for information exchange.
• To provide employment to over 2000 educated youths.
• To provide offices to be operated by technology partners but is owned by Government.
• To employ Internet and real time processing modes.

The services offered are:

• Payment of electricity bills.
• Payment of water bills.
• Payment of Land line & CellOne bills (BSNL).
• Payment of LIC premium.
