Dec 27, 2025 - Maruti Suzuki has officially unveiled the e Vitara, marking its first major foray into the electric SUV segment. The SUV is expected to kick off sales in January 2026 after bookings open soon.
The e Vitara is said to offer dual battery options, with ranges claimed up to around 543 km on a full charge. The variants will include three trims – Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The 49kWh battery pack will be sold with the Delta trim, while the 61kWh battery pack will be sold in the Zeta and top Alpha trims. Both variants support DC fast charging, enabling a 0 to 80 per cent recharge in around 50 minutes
The new arrival from Maruti Suzuki comes with features like seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, level 2 ADAS and an electronic parking brake. It is expected to be well-equipped with Nexa premium features, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and more.
Maruti Suzuki expects the launch of its first EV to significantly boost its sales of “green cars”, with alternate-fuel models projected to contribute a larger share of deliveries. Production for e Vitara has commenced in Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat facility with exports to Europe already started.
