India Hosts 5-Day Mega AI Impact Summit 2026 from Feb 16

The five-day AI Impact Summit in New Delhi is expected to see participation from global tech leaders, policymakers and government heads, including executives from Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon and DeepMind

Feb 16, 2026 - A five-day mega global AI Impact Summit 2026 opened today, February 16, at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre in New Delhi. World tech leaders, policymakers and government heads, including executives from Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon and DeepMind, will be participating in the Summit.

“Bringing the world together to discuss AI! Starting today, India hosts the AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. I warmly welcome world leaders, captains of industry, innovators, policymakers, researchers and tech enthusiasts from across the world for this Summit,” Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on his X platform.

The first session of the Summit began at 9:30 am and will open to general public from February 17. It is one of the first major AI summits held in the Global South which aims to establish a “shared roadmap for global AI governance and collaboration”, positioning India as a key hub for discussions on AI governance, innovation and socio-economic impact.

The Summit will focus on issues such as global South cooperation, emphasising inclusive AI access and shared development goals, as well as how AI will change employment and workforce requirements.

More than 250,000 visitors from about 100 countries are likely to attend the event from February 16 to 20. It will host 700+ sessions covering AI governance, ethics, data safety and equitable access. Global tech leaders Sundar Pichai, Dario Amodei and Sam Altman, 15-20 heads of governments, including Brazil and France, and more than 50 ministers from several countries will participate.

Alongside the Summit, PM Modi will open the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at 5:00 pm today at the Bharat Mandapam. The Expo will host more than 300 curated exhibition pavilions  from 13 countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Japan, Russia and Italy. Live demonstrations designed across three thematic chakras - People, Planet and Progress - are expected to be major attractions.
