October 17, 2026: Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi is preparing to introduce a new smartphone focused on battery life and gaming performance. The company has officially confirmed that the Redmi K100 will launch in China by the end of this month. Although the exact launch date and full specifications have not yet been revealed, pre-reservations have reportedly started in China. According to leaks, the smartphone could feature a 10,000mAh battery, a 6.9-inch OLED display and a powerful Snapdragon processor.

What Will the Redmi K100 Design Look Like?

Redmi has teased the upcoming Redmi K100 on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, offering a glimpse of the phone's rear design. The teaser shows two rear cameras alongside a large circular element. Some reports suggest that this could be a speaker grille, as a similar design element was reportedly seen on the Redmi K100 Pro series.

The company claims that the new smartphone will offer a large battery and gaming performance comparable to a Pro flagship device. However, Redmi has not yet revealed detailed technical specifications to support these claims.

10,000mAh Battery and 185Hz Display Expected

According to reports and leaked information, the Redmi K100 could feature a 6.9-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. If confirmed, the high refresh rate could deliver smoother visuals while gaming, scrolling and navigating the interface.

The smartphone is also expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, although the exact processor variant has not been confirmed. Its rumoured 10,000mAh battery is another major talking point. Actual battery life will depend on factors such as the processor, display settings, software optimisation and usage patterns.

Other leaked features include Bose-tuned speakers, an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and Android 17-based HyperOS 4. However, these specifications have not been officially confirmed by Redmi.

Redmi K100 Pre-Reservations Begin in China

Pre-reservations for the Redmi K100 have reportedly opened in China. Interested customers can reportedly reserve the smartphone by paying 9.9 Chinese yuan, which is approximately ₹140. Buyers may also receive a special gift package when purchasing the device, although the offer's terms have not been confirmed.

According to previous leaks, the Redmi K100 could be priced at around 3,500 Chinese yuan, equivalent to approximately ₹50,000. This is only an estimated price and has not been officially announced by the company.

Redmi has also not confirmed whether the smartphone will launch in India. Its Indian price, availability and potential launch timeline remain unknown.

Redmi K100 vs Redmi K100 Pro Series: What Is the Difference?

According to reports, the Redmi K100 series includes the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max models, which were reportedly launched in China in August. The reported prices are 3,999 yuan (approximately ₹57,000) for the Pro model and 4,499 yuan (approximately ₹64,000) for the Pro Max.

The Redmi K100 Pro is reported to feature an 8,580mAh battery, while the Pro Max could pack a larger 9,070mAh battery. Both models are also reported to support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

If the Redmi K100 launches with a 10,000mAh battery and gaming-focused hardware, it could become an interesting option for users who prioritise long battery life and performance. However, buyers will need to wait for Redmi's official announcement to confirm the final specifications, pricing and availability.
