The Royal Commission for Makkah city and Holy sites (RCMC) has announced that pilgrims will be able to use electric scooters during the Hajj season of 1445 AH-2024. This initiative, now in its third consecutive year, aims to enhance the pilgrims’ experience by offering a light, safe, and efficient mode of transportation. The service first launched on a trial basis during Haj 1443 AH.

Electric scooters will significantly reduce travel time between key locations. The journey from Mount Arafat to Muzdalifah will be shortened from 60 minutes to just 15 minutes.

Three designated paths, each 1.2 kilometers long and 25 meters wide, will be available for electric scooter use. These paths are designed to ensure safe travel for all pilgrims.

The first path connects Muzdalifah to Mina. The second path links pedestrian routes to the Western Jamarat entrance. The third path connects pedestrian routes to the Eastern Jamarat entrance.

On June 9, the Madinah branch of the Saudi Ministry of Health introduced a Smart Robot service in the Central Area near the Prophet's Mosque. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the service is designed to deliver educational messages, guidance, and health instructions to ensure the safety and awareness of pilgrims, offering support in over 96 languages globally.
