Now, through this one app, crores of people will be able to pay all their bills, from water, electricity and gas to credit card bills. Were you surprised to hear that? But it is true.

In the coming days, common people will be able to pay 30 types of bills, including electricity and water bills, through WhatsApp. According to various reports, a new 'in-app payment feature' has been launched. With the help of this feature, users will be able to check their electricity and water bills within the app and also get the option to pay them.

This feature is being launched in phases. The facility may become available to all WhatsApp users in the next few months, allowing them to manage and pay various bills directly through the app.

What other benefits will be available?

According to the report, WhatsApp's new service is connected to the Bharat Connect network. Through this service, users will be able to pay electricity, water, pipeline gas, FASTag recharge, insurance premium and credit card bills. Users will be able to pay a total of 30 types of bills, including house rent. WhatsApp will be able to pay bills to 22,722 billers.

Users can use the bill payment service by opening WhatsApp and tapping the ₹ (money) icon at the top of the home screen. They can then select the bill category and bill payer, enter their account details, confirm, and double-check the bill amount displayed on the screen before making the payment. Another great feature is the “Household Bills Summary”.

Here, previous bills will automatically populate, and the bills you have previously paid through WhatsApp will appear on the Payments home screen with one-tap access. WhatsApp says users can also manage multiple accounts under one biller, making it easier to pay bills for home, office, or family members from one place.
