Social media was put to good use yesterday when a stranded child was united with his parents with help from Twitter. The child was stranded at Jaipur railway station after his parents accidentally left him while boarding the 19329 Udaipur express.

Social media was put to good use yesterday when a stranded child was united with his parents with help from Twitter. The child was stranded at Jaipur railway station after his parents accidentally left him while boarding the 19329 Udaipur express.

Being stranded at a busy station is one of the worst childhood fears and it came true for Archit when he was separated from his parents who boarded the Udaipur train without him. Archit could not provide any information beyond the fact that his father’s name was Bharat Bhushan.

An alert Twitter user Phoenix Fire immediately posted the boy’s picture and tagged Railway Ministry also seeking help. As a result, help reached the child in form of his local guardian in Jaipur who came and took him. Post that Phoenix Fire tweeted about the child meeting his local guardian.

Thanks to smart use of technology, an extremely unfortunate incident was averted.
